Waste Management Education Campaign

SafeWork NSW needed assistance to plan and execute a myriad of content for Safe Work Month 2021.
While workplace health and safety should always be front of mind for managers and workers, Safe Work Month proves an ideal time to remind businesses to consider safe work practices.
Safe Work Month runs throughout October and is a time to increase focus on improving health and safety in the workplace, including the wellbeing of workers. The 2021 theme was ‘Protecting workers at risk’, so we needed to encourage businesses to consider the health and safety of their most vulnerable workers.
Due to the pandemic, many people were also working from home during this time, so our messaging needed to address the audience in an empathetic and supporting manner. We also needed to consider any potential risks of working from home as a result, including mental health and wellbeing. Using existing resources, our aim was to drive traffic to the Safe Work Month hub on the SafeWork NSW website, to provide the appropriate information, tools and resources to encourage and support safe work practices. We identified four content pillars to drive our messaging for this campaign:
The campaign targeted workers at risk such as CALD, migrant, young and labour hire groups in construction, manufacturing, transport and warehousing, healthcare and retail industries. As well as physical workplace health and safety, mental health and wellbeing was also a considered aspect in our approach.
Our deliverables included targeted eDM design, organic and paid social media posts (including images, carousels and videos) and website materials, as well as a content plan for implementation which included a comprehensive audit of available material, a channel plan and recommended source materials.
